I met Beth Kanter at the iHub in 2010 when during a trip to Kenya she took time to facilitate a workshop on the Networked Nonprofit. I wasn’t part of the iHub team by then but it’s opportunities like this that began my love affair with the space.

WHY SHE’S MY KIND OF PEOPLE
She was named by Fast Company as one of the most influential women in technology.
You don’t need to meet her to know that she’s extremely passionate about what she does. I get excited just reading her tweets!
She kissed a giraffe.
She gave me a book. It was the first time I ever won a raffle!

There I was, minding my own business, getting my photo taken by Mentalacrobatics when this happened. Cassiem Jabaar’s epic photobomb!

Mentalacrobatics and I were in Cape Town in March 2014 to watch our Tusker Simbas in their Vodacom Cup debut. They beat the EP Kings 17-10.

WHY HE’S MY KIND OF PEOPLE
He is an awesome photobomber!
He was one of South Africa’s rugby freedom fighters.
He played for Western Province, which is my favourite South African side.
He is a former SARU Captain.
He was the king of drop goals.
